2022 KTM 450 SX-F Factory Edition

The 2022 KTM SX-F 450 is a high-performance motocross machine built around a liquid-cooled 449.9?cc SOHC single-cylinder engine feeding a 44?mm EFI throttle body that produces approximately 63 horsepower. It delivers power through a five-speed manual gearbox and chain final drive, starting with an electric starter. The lightweight chrome-moly frame and aluminum swingarm lower overall mass to roughly 221–228?lb dry, helping it accelerate and turn quickly.

Suspension features a WP XACT 48?mm inverted air fork up front (~12.2? travel) and a WP XACT rear shock with linkage (~11.8? travel), both fully adjustable for rebound, compression, and preload. That setup delivers plush yet firm handling ideal for motocross tracks. Stopping power comes from Brembo hydraulic brakes: a 260?mm disc up front and 220?mm disc at the rear.

Tires are Dunlop Geomax MX3S (or MX33), sized 80/100-21 front and 110/90-19 rear, mounted on tubed D.I.D DirtStar aluminum wheels. Ground clearance measures about 13.5–14.8 inches and seat height sits around 37.4–37.8 inches. The bike rides on a wheelbase of approximately 58.5 inches.

Ergonomics include Neken tapered handlebars with ODI lock-on grips and new die-cast footpegs designed to shed dirt. A CNC-machined triple clamp with adjustable offset (20 or 22?mm) improves handling geometry. The frame integrates a clean glide plate and plastic brake guard.

Electronics on the Factory Edition include a handlebar-mounted map switch that toggles between traction control, launch control, quick-shifter, and selectable engine maps. A lap timer and optional digital dash are available.

Fuel tank capacity is about 1.9 gallons. Overall the 450 SX-F is celebrated for combining championship-level power, fine-tuned suspension, top-tier handling, and race-ready features in a comparatively light package. While high-revving and demanding precise clutch control, it's considered one of the most capable motocross bikes in its class. Many riders note that it requires careful throttle and clutch work in tight single-track or trail riding.
